To be a sonographer someone must enter the diagnostic medical sonography schools which is available also online. Sonographer is someone who works using the medical imaging modality, a machine which uses high frequency of sound waves to produce visual images of inner organs, tissues or blood flows. There are some technical standard you must pay attention to before you are applying for diagnostic medical sonography, a sonographer must be able to lift more than 50 pounds routinely, push and pull routinely, bend and stoop, have full use of both hands, distinguish audible sound, adequately view sonograms including color distinction, work standing 80% of a time, assisting patient on and off examine table, able to communicate with patients and others. Therefore make sure you can work with all the mentioned then you can be a good sonographer.
The carrier for sonographer is getting important lately, not only in big cities, an even rural area needs this profession as well. This profession will be able to work in a clinic, hospital, private practice physician offices, health care facilities and many others. Once you are graduated from diagnostic medical sonography or DMS you will be able to follow exam to be a professional exams. If your school was not accredited you need to fulfill one year of clinical experience in order to take the exams. After the exams American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or the ARDMS will certify you as professional sonographer. If you have tendency for health care profession this may be the profession you want.
